Jeffrey Lurie is a well-known American motion picture producer, former professor of social policy and businessman, better known as the owner of the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League.

Jeffrey Robert Lurie was born on September 8, 1951, in Boston, Massachusetts, the United States into a Jewish family to parents, Nancy Smith) and Morris John Lurie. He was raised alongside two siblings, Peter and Cathy.

Jeffrey Lurie lost his father on April 14, 1961, at the age of 44 when he was only nine years old. His grandfather, Philip Smith, founded the General Cinema movie theatre chain, which was one of the largest operators of drive-in movie theatres in the United States.

Jeffrey Lurie earned a B.A. from Clark University and later obtained a master’s degree in psychology from Boston University. He received a doctorate in social policy from The Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University. Before he became a businessman, Jeffrey Lurie had served as an adjunct assistant professor of social policy at Boston University.

Jeffrey Lurie’s Children

Jeffrey Lurie is the father of two children, a son and a daughter including Julian Lurie and Milena Caitlin, all of whom he shares with his ex-wife Christina Weiss. Christina is a former actress,  documentary producer, philanthropist as well as a minority owner of the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles.

Jeffrey Lurie’s eldest child, his daughter Milena Caitlin was born in 1993. She works as a filmmaker in New York. Jeffrey’s second child, son Julian Lurie was born in 1995. Julian Lurie graduated from Harvard in June 2017.

Julian Lurie had completed a two-year rotational internship with the NFL from 2017-2019. He is reportedly being groomed by his father for a senior position aimed at him eventually succeeding him as chairman and CEO. Julian Lurie is currently a senior manager of business strategy at Overtime, the sports network and brand.
