The Browning® Screw Conveyor is a modification of the Browning Shaft Mount Reducer. A conventional shaft mount reducer can be converted into a screw conveyor drive. This is done by adding a screw conveyor adapter and drive shaft. A typical screw conveyor drive bolts directly to a trough end via an adapter while delivering the torque through a drive shaft. This is secured to the conveyor screw with standard fasteners. This design eliminates the need for external thrust bearings commonly required in this style conveyor. Screw conveyor drives are used extensively in the grain industry.
