Morse HT Clutches

The HT Series Clutch was designed primarily for indexing applications. One end of the clutch has equally spaced tapped holes on a bolt circle to attach a sprocket, gear, ratchet arm, or torque arm. This is to facilitate use for indexing or backstopping. These cam clutches are not symmetrical and therefore must be ordered according to the rotation required in application. A snap-ring ball bearing must be inserted into the counter-bore end of the clutch at the time of assembly. A gasket or seal to retain the lubrication must be added. This is followed by lubrication with Type A automatic transmission fluid prior to use. In Freewheeling applications, the inner race should be the overrunning element.
