This bearing design utilizes two rows of balls with the inner ring having two deep groove raceways. The outer ring has a single continuous spherical raceway. This permits the inner and outer ring to be misaligned relative to each other through a comparatively large angle. This process doesn’t impose moment loads upon the balls. This bearing is frequently used when the inner ring is to be mounted upon an adapter sleeve. It can also be used when conditions in the machine make it difficult to ensure alignment of the inner and outer rings.
